Phillip Philbeck loves to paint the gorgeous landscapes of his home state of North Carolina.  In the Nantahala National Forest, there is an amazing scene when the sun casts its shadow on Whiteside Mountain.  The image of a bear appears on the mountainside, and it looks as if it will leap over the valley below.  This "Eternal Bear Spirit" is oneof the state's most popular attractions.
